Kathleen Tesori never thought about becoming a fitness model or even a model until her second or third year in college. Kathleen Tesori can thank her friends for opening the doors to her aspirations about pursuing the fitness industry.

In July 2005, Miss Hawaiian Tropic (sun care company) held one of their nationwide preliminary model searches in Utah. Kathleen Tesori’s friends heard the contest being advertised on the radio and called to see if she was going to compete.
They convinced her to try it out. Tesori had done a few aerobic classes in college, but other than those few activities, she did not work out or have a clean diet.

Kathleen Tesori had six days before the first competition and she put the pedal to the medal. Kathleen made dramatic changes to her diet and went on a work-out frenzy! Tesori was shocked how much change she made in one week; one of her friends stopped by her apartment to help Tesori select her wardrobe and was shocked by her transformation. Kathleen Tesori ended up winning and won a few more competitions later on. In the end, she walked away with the Utah title and traveled to Hawaii for the national competition. Since that moment, Kathleen has been addicted and networking with others has blessed with her many more opportunities.

What is your current training split?

Right now I am trying to shed muscle so total body / circuit training is the focus right now. I like to route my cycles and goals every few months.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

Muscle gains -
I thought I wanted to gain a ton of muscle so I worked so hard for a year plus to put on muscle and then I realized I was uncomfortable in my own skin so now I am trying to shed some of the size I built which is a little bit of a challenge

Who do you look up to?

Jamie Eason – She is a genuine person who is willing to share her knowledge and experiences and she remembers people’s names!

How do you balance bodybuilding and your social life?

Learning how to balance my diet while still enjoying my not so healthy favorite food and drinks. I used to think I had to continue my diet year round with very few time-outs along the way. Having an all or nothing frame of mind was not a fun or healthy way to live. I learned it is ok and actually better to have many enjoyable breaks throughout the year.

I work in an administrative type office and there are always goodies in the office and lunches/parties planned. It is hard to say no to all the food especially when people make comments but I have learned to set a cheat schedule and pick a choose cheats foods that are worth eating.

I always participate in the parties by signing up to bring a treat and will attend the party to socialize but go back to my desk to eat my own lunch. I will usually attend the out of office lunches but will only order a soup or a salad or even just a drink. I would rather save my cheat meals for the weekends…!!!

Favorite quote?

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and
become more, you are a leader.”
John Quincy Adams

Future plans?

Right now I am trying to build a name with credibility and trust behind it so I can create any opportunity I want in the Future. I never thought I would be where I am today so I am not sure what I want to create for the future involving my health and fitness focus. I work full time with the Air Force working as Logistics Specialist so I work on my Healthy Fit hobbies on the side when I can.
